Good news for community groups in Doncaster’s Central Locality—funding is still available! The Central Locality - Community Investment Fund is offering grants of up to £2,000 for Voluntary, Community, and Faith Sector (VCFS) organizations to support the incredible work you’re already doing in your neighbourhood. If your group is based in areas like Balby, Town Ward, Cantley, Hexthorpe, Wheatley, or Bessacarr, and you’re committed to making a positive impact in your community, this is an opportunity to get the funding you need.

The aim of this grant is to amplify the energy, ideas, and resources of local groups by supporting projects that tackle some of the key issues affecting our community. Whether your group focuses on supporting children and young people, creating employment and training opportunities, addressing local health challenges like respiratory conditions and diabetes, or promoting healthy lifestyle choices, this grant can help take your impact further.

Funding from the Central Locality - Community Investment Fund is also available for initiatives that strengthen mental health awareness, combat social isolation, and enhance neighborhood safety. From making better use of community spaces to boosting community spirit, eligible projects are those that can bring people together and make Doncaster an even better place to live.

There are, of course, some guidelines to keep in mind. The grant cannot cover building refurbishments, projects outside Doncaster, or activities with political or religious affiliations. However, if your focus is on meaningful community involvement and sustainable change, this fund is for you. A unique aspect of this grant is that, in addition to completing regular reports, recipients will be asked to share the stories and experiences gathered from their project’s impact—capturing the positive change in their community and sharing it with others.

If your group has previously received grant funding from the Social Isolation Alliance, you’re still eligible to apply! Previous or ongoing project performance will be reviewed by the grant panel on a case-by-case basis to ensure continued support for impactful projects.
