W.G Edwards Charitable Foundation
The W G Edwards Charitable Foundation is a grant-making charity dedicated to enhancing the well-being of older people across the UK. The Foundation supports projects that aim to improve the quality of life for individuals over the age of 65. Grants are provided for capital projects, refurbishments, equipment, and innovative care schemes that help seniors lead active and fulfilling lives. The Foundation prioritizes applications from registered charities that promote physical and mental well-being through a proactive approach.
To be eligible for a grant, charities must be UK-based and have been registered with one of the main charity regulators—such as the Charity Commission for England and Wales, the Regulator for Charities in Northern Ireland, or the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator—for at least two years. The Foundation focuses on charities that can demonstrate a significant impact on the lives of older people. If your charity serves a mixed age group, at least 80% of the beneficiaries must be over the age of 65 to qualify. The Foundation does not support individuals, projects for people under 65, or initiatives based overseas. The Trustees award funds at their discretion, adhering to the guidelines set by the Foundation’s founder.
