Leeds Building Society Foundation Grants
If your charity is focused on supporting individuals in need of a safe and secure home, the Leeds Building Society Foundation offers grants that could help you make a greater impact. Since 1999, the Foundation has donated over £2 million to various local projects across the UK, and it has recently sharpened its focus to address housing needs specifically. In 2023, the Foundation provided £339,486 in grants to 46 charities, reaffirming its commitment to helping those who are experiencing homelessness or housing insecurity.
The Foundation offers two types of grants to eligible UK registered charities: small grants (up to £1,000) and large grants (£25,000-£100,000). Small grants are available for capital expenditures and are targeted at charities with a turnover of less than £1 million. Large grants can support core costs, project work, or capital expenses and are available to charities based in Yorkshire and the North East of England with a turnover of £5 million or less. To qualify, your project must align with the Foundation’s mission of providing safe and secure housing and should incorporate practices such as strength-based approaches, trauma-informed care, and psychologically-informed environments. Please note that the Foundation does not fund projects that are religious, military, political, or unrelated to housing needs.
If your charity’s mission aligns with these goals, we encourage you to explore this funding opportunity and submit an application.
